Special Precautions:
Severe bradycardia, heart failure (particularly in combination w/ β-blocker), cardiogenic shock. May impair ability to drive or operate machinery. Patients w/ hepatic disease. Elderly.
Side Effects / Adverse Reactions:
Flushing, fatigue, edema, palpitation, vertigo, headache, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea.
Dosage / Direction for Use:
Adult Usual dose: 5 mg once daily. HTN, stable & Prinzmetal's angina Initially 5 mg, may be increased to 10 mg once daily. Chronic stable or vasospastic angina, coronary artery disease 5-10 mg once daily. Elderly & patients w/ hepatic insufficiency 5 mg once daily. Childn 6-17 yr 2.5-5 mg once daily.
