MULTIVENT NEBULE (NEBULE)
Description: Each 2.5-mL nebule contains salbutamol sulfate 2.5 mg and ipratropium bromide 500 mcg. Multivent also contain water for injections as excipient.
Presentation / Packing: Nebules 35's.
Storage: Store at temperatures not exceeding 30°C.

Indications / Uses: Adjunct treatment to anti-inflammatory therapy & bronchodilators in asthma to prevent exacerbations. Maintenance treatment of COPD including chronic bronchitis & emphysema.

Dosage / Direction for Use: 1 unit dose tid-qid
Overdosage: Symptoms: The effects of overdosage are expected to be primarily related to salbutamol because acute overdosage with ipratropium bromide is unlikely as it is not well absorbed systematically after inhalation or oral administration. Hypokalemia may occur following overdosage. Serum potassium levels should be monitored. Manifestations of overdosage with salbutamol may include angina pain, hypertension, hypokalemia and tachycardia.
Treatment: The preferred antidote for overdosage with salbutamol is a cardioselective β-blocking agent but due care and attention should be taken while administering these drugs in patients with a history of bronchospasm.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity to atropine & its derivatives. History of hypersensitivity to soya lecithin or related food products eg, soybean & peanut.
Side Effects / Adverse Reactions: Tremor, nervousness, tachycardia, dizziness, headache, hypokalemia, dry mouth, throat irritation, urinary retention, nausea & arrhythmia.
Interactions: Anticholinergics, β-blockers, α-adrenergic agents, diuretics, MAOIs or tricyclic antidepressants.
