Contents: Per mL eye drops Dexamethasone 1 mg, polymyxin B sulfate 6,000 IU, neomycin sulfate 3,500 IU. Per g eye oint Dexamethasone 1 mg, polymyxin B sulfate 6,000 IU, neomycin sulfate 3,500 IU Indications / Uses: Short term treatment of steroid responsive inflammatory condition & where a bacterial infection or risk of bacterial ocular infection exists. Inflammatory conditions of the palpebral & bulbar conjunctiva, cornea & anterior segment of the globe; chronic anterior uveitis & corneal injury from chemical, radiation or thermal burns; penetration of foreign bodies. Eye drops: Following surgery & injuries; eye infections requiring simultaneous antibacterial & anti-inflammatory treatment w/ a glucocorticosteroid. Eye oint: Eye inflammations, which are sensitive to glucocorticoids, accompanied by bacterial infection, or at risk of bacterial infection eg, conjunctivitis, inflammation of the eyelids/eyeball, cornea & anterior portion of the eye, chronic inflammation of the anterior iris.

Special Precautions: Discontinue if hypersensitivity occurs. Cross-hypersensitivity to other aminoglycoside. Prolonged use may result in ocular HTN &/or glaucoma, w/ damage to the optic nerve, reduced visual acuity & visual field defects, & posterior subcapsular cataract formation. Routinely & frequently check IOP in patients receiving prolonged therapy. Risk of corticosteroid-induced ocular HTN especially in childn. Predisposed patients (eg, diabetes). Cushing's syndrome &/or adrenal suppression may occur after intensive or long-term continuous therapy. Do not discontinue abruptly, but progressively tapered. May reduce resistance to & aid in the establishment of non-susceptible bacterial, fungal, parasitic or viral infections & mask the clinical signs of infection or enhance existing infections. Fungal infection should be suspected in patients w/ persistent corneal ulceration. May result into overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms. Perforations may occur in diseases causing thinning of the cornea or sclera. Herpes simplex infections. Benzalkonium Cl content may cause eye irritation & discolour soft contact lenses. Avoid contact w/ soft contact lenses. Remove contact lenses prior to application & wait at least 15 min before reinsertion. May affect the ability to drive & use machines. Not recommended during pregnancy. Lactation. Childn. Side Effects / Adverse Reactions: Skin sensitization, secondary infection. Increased IOP in prolonged use. Dosage / Direction for Use: Eye drops 1-2 drops in the conjunctival sac(s). In mild disease, drops may be used up to 4-6 times daily. In severe disease, drops may be used hrly, being tapered to discontinuation as the inflammation subsides. Eye oint Apply a small amount into the conjunctival sac(s) tid-qid or, may be used adjunctively w/ drops at bedtime.
