Indications / Uses :
Management of patients with the following conditions: Signs and symptoms of primary or secondary gout (acute attacks, tophi, joint destruction, uric acid lithiasis and/or nephropathy); leukemia, lymphoma and malignancies requiring cancer therapy that causes elevations of serum and urinary uric acid levels (discontinue treatment when the potential for overproduction of uric acid is no longer present); recurrent calcium oxalate calculi whose daily uric acid excretion exceeds 800 mg/day in male patients and 750 mg/day in female patients.

Should be taken with food.
Contraindications :
Hypersensitivity. Idiopathic hemochromatosis, asymptomatic hyperuricemia. Pregnancy & lactation. Childn.
Special Precautions :
Allopurinol should be discontinued at the first appearance of rash or any sign that may indicate an allergic reaction, painful urination, blood in the urine, irritation of the eyes or swelling of the lips or mouth.
Liver and renal function tests and complete blood cell counts should be performed during the first few months.
