Administration :
Should be taken on an empty stomach: Take 1 hr before or 2 hr after meals.
Special Precautions :
Salbutamol: Hyperthyroidism, myocardial insufficiency, arrhythmias, QT interval prolongation, HTN, DM. Pregnancy (1st trimester).
Dosage / Direction for Use:
Adult & childn >12 yr 2-3 tsp bid-tid, 6-12 yr 1-2 tsp bid-tid, up to 12 yr 1 tsp bid-tid
Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity. Salbutamol: Not to be used under treatment w/ MAOIs. Not to be used for threatened abortion during pregnancy (1st & 2nd trimesters).
Side Effects / Adverse Reactions:
Salbutamol: Headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, dyspepsia, otitis media, vertigo, tremor, nervousness (childn 2-6 yr), insomnia (childn 6-12 yr). .
