Special Precautions :
Use with caution in patients with peptic ulcer, liver and kidney impairment, heart failure and high blood pressure.
Effects on the Ability to Drive or Operate Machinery: Mefenamic acid may impair the ability to perform activities requiring mental alertness or physical coordination.
Impairment of Fertility: Although there are no adequate and well-controlled studies to date in humans, mefenamic acid has been shown to have adverse effects in animals during reproduction studies.
Use in pregnancy & lactation: Mefenamic acid should be used in pregnancy only when clearly needed.
Mefenamic acid is distributed into milk and because of its potential for adverse effects on the cardiovascular system in infants, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or discontinue medication with mefenamic acid.
Adverse reaction:
>stomach pain
>nausea.
>vomiting.
>heartburn.
>constipation.
>diarrhea.
>rash.
Direction for use:
One to two 250-mg tabs or one 500-mg tab 3 times a day, or as prescribed by the physician. Preferably taken with food. Treatment should not be continued for >7 days. Patients with impaired renal or liver function.
