Dosage / Direction for Use: Adult & childn 12 yr 10 mL every 4-6 hr, 6 to <12 yr 5 mL every 4-6 hr, 2 to <6 yr 2.5 mL every 4-6 hr.
Missed Dose: Take the missed dose as soon as the patient remembers. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take double dose to make up for the missed one.
Overdosage: The following signs and symptoms may be associated with an overdose of Phenylephrine HCl and Brompheniramine Maleate: convulsion, dizziness, lethargy, insomnia, nervousness and anxiety.
Other symptoms may include: restlessness, nausea, vomiting, tremor, dry mouth and throat, abdominal discomfort, somnolence, sedation, ataxia, irritability, excitability, hallucination, delirium, hypertension, apnea, blurred vision, bradycardia, palpitations, tachycardia, heart rate abnormal, agitation, depressed level of consciousness, coma, psychotic disorder, fatigue, hyperpyrexia, hyperthermia, dyspnea, nasal dryness, respiratory arrest, respiratory failure, circulatory collapse, flushing, hypotension and pallor.
In case of accidental overdose or at the first sign of any adverse reaction, discontinue use and seek professional assistance immediately.
Administration: May be taken with or without food: May be taken with food or milk to reduce GI discomfort. Do not take with alcohol.
Contraindications: This product is contraindicated in patients who are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the active ingredients or other components under Description.
People who are taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) or for 14 days after stopping the MAOI drug.
The patient should not use during an asthma attack, or if the patient has a glaucoma, or problems in urinating.
Do not use in children under 2 years of age.
Special Precautions: This product may cause drowsiness, be careful when driving a motor vehicle or operating machinery.
Ask a doctor before use if the patient has: high blood pressure, breathing problems, chronic lung disease (such as chronic bronchitis, asthma or emphysema), glaucoma, heart disease, diabetes, thyroid disease or trouble urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland.
As with any medication, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should seek the advice of a doctor before using this product.
Consult the Doctor: Stop use and ask the doctor or healthcare professional if symptoms get worse or last more than 10 days, unless directed by a doctor or healthcare professional.
Call the doctor right away if the patient notices any of the side effects listed under Adverse Reactions.
Side Effects / Adverse Reactions: Tell the doctor or pharmacist if the patient notices any of the following side effects: Hypersensitivity reactions including skin rash, urticaria, high blood pressure, and thrombocytopenia. As with other antihistamine preparations: nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, drowsiness, dry mouth, irritability or excitement may be encountered.
Other side effects that may occur: agranulocytosis, hemolytic anemia, hypoplastic anemia. bradycardia, palpitations, tachycardia, visual disturbance, constipation, diarrhea, fatigue, anaphylactic shock, dizziness, headache, sedation, confusional state, nervousness, restlessness, insomnia, vision blurred, hypertension, hypersensitivity, psychomotor hyperactivity, extrasystoles, malaise, coordination abnormal, somnolence, euphoric mood, dry throat, nasal dryness, drug eruption, photosensitivity reaction, painful urination (dysuria) and urinary retention.
Interactions: Antihypertensives or sympathomimetics. Alcohol. Increased drowsiness w/ sedatives or tranquilizers.
