Dosage / Direction for Use
To be taken orally every 4-6 hours.
Do not take more than 4 doses in any 24 hour period.
Maximum duration of continued use without medical advice: 3 days.
Dose may be based on weigh or age; use weight if it is known, otherwise use age
Drops Children 1?-2 yr & 29-33 lbs: 2 mL,
1-1? yr & 24-29 lbs: 1.7 mL.
Infant 6-12 months & 18-24 lbs: 1.2 mL,
0-6 months & 11-18 lbs: 0.8 mL,
0-6 months & 7-11 lbs 0.5 mL.
All doses to be taken 4-6 hrly.
Administration
May be taken with or without food
Contraindications
Contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to paracetamol, or any other components of the formulation.
Special Precautions
If the child has been diagnosed with liver or kidney impairment, seek medical advice before giving the medication.
This product requires no prescription.
Interactions
Prolonged regular daily use may enhance anticoagulant effect of warfarin & other coumarins leading to increased risk of bleeding. Should not be used w/ other paracetamol-containing medications.
Adverse Reactions
Thrombocytopaenia, anaphylaxis, cutaneous hypersensitivity reactions including skin rashes, angioedema and Stevens-Johnson syndrome, bronchospasm in patients sensitive to aspirin and other NSAIDs, hepatic dysfunction. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
